These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MetaBuff ("Service", "we", "us", "our"), a market visibility intelligence platform for game developers. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
By accessing the Service at metabuff.dev, using our API, or creating an account, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
MetaBuff provides market intelligence analytics for the gaming industry, including niche discovery, visibility diagnostics, and store optimization recommendations. Our data is derived from publicly available sources including publicly accessible store APIs and community data providers.
MetaBuff is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Steam® and the Steam logo are registered trademarks of Valve Corporation in the US and other countries.
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys. You must notify us immediately at hello@metabuff.dev if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not create multiple free-tier accounts to circumvent usage limits. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate this provision.
Upon registration, you receive an API key. This key is shown once and cannot be retrieved after initial display. You are responsible for storing it securely.
Paid subscriptions are processed through Polar.sh, our Merchant of Record. Polar handles all payment processing, tax collection (including VAT/sales tax), invoicing, and refund administration on our behalf. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Polar's terms and Polar's privacy policy.
Under Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to digital services that have begun to be supplied with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgement of the loss of that right.
By starting use of MetaBuff (including viewing diagnostics, running visibility lookups, or making API calls) before the 14-day withdrawal period elapses, you expressly consent to immediate digital service provision and acknowledge that you lose your statutory right of withdrawal. If you do not wish to waive this right, do not use the Service until 14 days have passed since purchase; in that case, you may withdraw by emailing hello@metabuff.dev for a full refund.
This clause does not affect the courtesy refund window described in Section 5 above, which we offer in addition to (not in place of) statutory rights.
All metrics, scores, verdicts, projections, and recommendations provided by MetaBuff are estimates. They are derived from publicly available data sources and proprietary algorithms. They do not represent actual sales figures, official analytics, or guaranteed outcomes.
You agree not to:
MetaBuff, the MetaBuff logo, and "Market Visibility Intelligence" are trademarks of MetaBuff. The Buff Score methodology, niche scoring algorithms, and recommendation engine are proprietary.
Data retrieved through our API may be used in your own tools, dashboards, and internal reports. You may not redistribute raw data feeds commercially.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, METABUFF IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Mandatory consumer protection rights under your local law are not affected.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
You may request account deletion at any time from Settings → Danger Zone, or by emailing hello@metabuff.dev. Deletion is processed with a 30-day grace period: upon request, your API access is revoked immediately and your data is marked for permanent erasure 30 days later. You may cancel the request from Settings within that window. After 30 days, all personal data is permanently deleted.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active users via email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain and applicable European Union law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Madrid, Spain, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction require otherwise.
